The fellows will focus as a group on the progress Brazil has made with several Millennium Development Goals, including reducing poverty and hunger and improving the health of its citizens. These are particularly timely topics, given Brazil’s role hosting the World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.

*Tolu Ogunlesi is a Nigerian journalist, blogger and newspaper columnist. He has written for the Financial Times, CNN.com, the Independent, Al Jazeera, the London Guardian, The Huffington Post, YNaija and The Africa Report, among others. Since February 2013, he has written a weekly column for The Punch, a daily Nigerian newspaper. Between 2009 and 2011 he was a features editor and weekly columnist at NEXT newspaper. He is a two-time winner in the annual CNN Multichoice African Journalism Awards (2009 and 2013).
