On Friday October 30, Cuso International in partnership with the African Union Sixth Region Canada is hosting a special event for the Nigerian community in the Greater Toronto Area.
The Diaspora Volunteer Speaker Series will be celebrating the efforts of past and present volunteers who have worked at the grassroots of global change in Calabar, Cross River State. Hear first-hand experiences of how Cuso International is making lasting change.
In every corner of the developing world, volunteers work shoulder-to-shoulder alongside committed people who strive to build better futures with limited resources. Since 1961, Cuso International has sent over 16,000 volunteers abroad to work internationally with local partners on projects related to community development, livelihoods, health, environmental sustainability, and gender equality and social inclusion. These global citizens are building relationships person to person, community to community, and country to country.
Please join us as we Engage, Share and Celebrate, hear an inspiring address from the Chairman of the AU6R Canada, Mr. Macaulay Kalu, hear returned volunteers share stories about their impact in Nigeria, explore our photo exhibit, enjoy music and traditional food. As well, you will be able to connect through a Q&A with Cuso International staff, including Kenna Owoh Program Advisor for Nigeria’s YouLead program.
