Dear writers,
In connection with the anniversary on 20 November of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), UNICEF invites renowned writers from around the world to share tiny stories around the theme: “What I Want for Every Child.”
The strategic aim of the initiative is to reach and engage new audiences through mainly social media and digital platforms with stories published by different writers around the world. Each writer will have her/his own style of writing, audience, language, and geographical reach.
We hope through this initiative increase the awareness of child rights globally and locally.
Each writer is invited to write a tiny story, maximum of seven lines (about 70 words), and post it on his or her Facebook profile between 14 and 20 November. UNICEF will share selected stories on its platforms. If the writer does not have social media but is still interested in participating, UNICEF will post the content on our platforms.
Stories should be like a Facebook status update to make them easy to read, digest, share and tap into the power of short social media messages.
We seek your support to introduce this initiative to your fellow writers to see who is interested and we can follow up subsequently.
