Dear Colleague,
Emma Ezeazu, General Secretary of the Alliance for Credible Elections (ACE Nigeria) until his death on May 18, 2015, lived most of his life in the service of his country, with a history of struggles that straddle the students movement, human rights and pro-democracy activism as well as transformational politics.
With his death, his friends and colleagues, in partnership with the University of Lagos Students Union (ULSU), are convening a half-day event to celebrate his life, his struggles and contributions to national development and to inspire a new generation of young persons in Nigeria, particularly students, to emulate his life.
We also hope that the event will provide a platform for a critical evaluation of the role of the human rights and democracy activist in a democratic Nigeria.
It is our honour to invite you to the convening, which will be chaired by Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) while Dr. Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) will deliver the keynote address.
The event will take place as follows:
Date: Thursday, 2 July 2015
Time: 11.00am to 3.00pm
Venue: Julius Berger Hall, University of Lagos, Akoka-Lagos
Please join us and let us honour our fallen colleague.
Sincerely,
For Organising Committee
