As part of the celebration of UNICEF’s 70th anniversary last year, we invited writers from all over the world to write a short story on the theme ‘what I want for every child’.
Out of the more than 200 authors who responded, 19 of them were from Nigeria. Author Chido Onumah wants all children protected against inhuman and exploitative labour.
He tells the story of Moco who was forced by her 70-year-old guardian to work at the quarry crushing stones for several hours a day.
